BP/ND Unit

Effective control of bacteria in water systems requires a combination of procedures, ensuring that bacteria in the water are killed and that there are no micro-habitats within the system where they can breed. Eliminating scale and corrosion by-products from the system, as discussed elsewhere on this site, helps to remove micro-habitats, while Environment Plus (UK) Ltd's innovative BP/ND Unit provides proven, effective, non-chemical disinfection of water. Independent testing by QinetiQ (formerly DERA) of the sanitasion cartridges has confirmed bacterial kill rates as high as 99.99%, equivalent to those achieved using conventional chemical treatment but without the associated disadvantages. Advantages of the BP/ND Unit No chemicals added to the water No environmental impact No COSHH implications Minimal maintenance requirements Low cost of ownership

Chlorine Dioxide

Chlorine dioxide has been described as the "ideal biocide". The compound was first produced by Sir Humphrey Davy in 1811. Recent innovations in safe and efficient delivery mechanisms have allowed it to be applied to a wide variety of applications. It can be used for numerous odour control applications. These range from cleaning up emissions of harmful and odorous molecules from industrial processes, to removing tobacco odours from enclosed spaces and office buildings. Chlorine dioxide is safe to use on human and animal tissue. It is now being used in oral hygiene, patient wound care and as part of Drinking Water Hygiene Programmes. Extensive testing has confirmed the safety of chlorine dioxide. This includes extensive studies by the Environmental Protection Agency.

Condensafe

A new Product from WaterMATIC for condensing boiler discharge. It is an easily installed and exchangeable environmentally sound mineral based product for ‘neutralising’ condensate from condensing boilers.

E+ Ionisation Systems

Ions kill bacteria in a different way to chemicals. Because they are positively charged they are attracted to bacteria that is negatively charged. Copper ions attach and weaken the cell walls and this allows silver ions to penetrate inside the cell, where they effectively poison the organism.

Kal-Guard+

Kal-Guard+ is an enhanced scale inhibitor (patent applied for), which is based on Watermatic's proven zinc anode electrolytic design and now incorporates advanced electronic controls to fine tune its performance.

Korrosion Guard

In systems where corrosion has already occurred, it will be necessary to clean the system thoroughly and then to ensure no further corrosion occurs. New systems and preventative maintenance of existing systems also necessitates system cleaning and use of a corrosion inhibitor. Environment Plus' range of solutions includes Korrosion-Guard electrolytic corrosion inhibitors and the Corrosion Guard range of chemical system cleaners and inhibitors for central heating systems (available in 25 litre containers). Korrosion-Guard provides a 'fit-and-forget' plumbed-in solution to the problems of corrosion in water systems, without the need to apply and regularly top up chemical corrosion inhibitors. As such it offers lower maintenance costs, less down time and reduced expenditure on consumables.

Temperature Monitoring Kit

For compliance with L8's temperature monitoring regime Environment Plus recommend the ETI2003 Temperature monitoring kit for the recording of temperatures.
